Temple Accounts Privacy Policy

What this policy covers

This policy covers the Temple Accounts desktop app (Windows, Mac and Linux) and the part of Vishnu Balachandran's website ("this site") that sells and licenses it. For everything else on this site, see the general Privacy Policy.

The app works offline and sends no data

Temple Accounts runs entirely on your computer. Your temple's records, orders, expenses and spreadsheets stay in the app's data folder on your computer. The app does not send them, or any usage data, analytics or crash reports, to us or to anyone else, and it does not need an internet connection to work. Verifying your licence key is done offline on your computer.

What this site processes

Only the licence purchase and the Device ID you enter on this site are processed here:

• Licence purchase: the email address you enter or your account email, the fixed price charged, any promo code, and payment status. Payment is handled entirely by Razorpay's own checkout; we never see or store your card details.
• Device ID: the Device ID you copy from the app's activation screen and paste into My licences. It is a one-way code for your computer, not your name or your files. We store it with your licence so we can sign your licence key for that computer, together with the key itself and a short history of key changes.
• Account: to use My licences you sign in with an account (name, email and a securely hashed password, or Google sign-in).

A licence purchase confirmation is emailed as a service message about that purchase, and a copy goes to the site admin. Hosting is by Supabase (database) and Vercel (application), as described in the general Privacy Policy. Downloading the app from the Microsoft Store or from GitHub is handled by those services under their own policies, not by this site or by the app.

Your rights, including deletion

You have the rights described in the general Privacy Policy under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023: access, correction, erasure, withdrawing consent, nominating someone to act for you, and grievance redressal. You can delete your account and personal details yourself at Delete my account, or write to us at vishnubalachandran596@gmail.com. Uninstalling the app and deleting its data folder removes everything the app stores on your computer.

Data breaches

If a breach of the licence or account data held on this site affects you, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

Children's data

The app and this site are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above changes with it.
