Consultancy

Work with me directly

Three ways to get senior time on a real system, grounded in 8+ years building banking and fintech platforms at scale.

Not sure which fits? The free call is the scoping step for all three — not a separate product.

Architecture Review

₹1,50,000indicative — quoted after scoping

A focused review of one real system or decision, ending in written findings and a clear recommendation — not an open-ended hour.

Scope
One system or decision
You get
Written findings
Length
About two weeks
What's included
  • Scope: one system, one migration, or one architecture decision — agreed in writing before anything starts, so neither of us is guessing
  • You get: a written findings document — the risks, the trade-offs, and a specific recommendation you can act on
  • How it runs: a scoping call, then the review itself, then one call to walk the findings through with you and your team
  • Typical length: a couple of weeks end to end, depending on how much material there is to read
  • Price: the figure above is what a review of this shape usually lands at; the quote comes after scoping, so you're never paying for work you didn't need

Fractional Advisory

₹2,00,000–₹4,00,000/monthdepending on cadence

A technical architect on call for your team — regular reviews, design input, and a second opinion before the decisions that are expensive to reverse.

Scope
Ongoing design input
Cadence
Standing call + async
Commitment
Month to month
What's included
  • Scope: ongoing architecture and design input alongside your team, rather than one fixed deliverable
  • You get: notes and a recommendation in writing out of every review, so the decisions are on the record and not just in someone's memory
  • Cadence: a standing review call on whatever rhythm fits you, plus async access for the questions that come up in between
  • Commitment: month to month — usually starting once an Architecture Review has shown it's a clear fit
  • Price: the range above covers most teams; where you land in it depends on cadence and how much async access you want

What you walk away with

A concrete outcome either way: which of two architectures to pick and why, the specific risks in a migration plan, or a clear next step on a technical decision. Every paid engagement ends with something in writing.

Scheduling that fits your time zone

I work with clients across the US, the UK, Europe and India. I'm based in IST, and the self-serve slots land in the US morning and the UK/European afternoon — pick one that works. Need a different time? Say so and I'll schedule around your day; reviews and retainer calls are always booked with you directly.

Why book direct

No marketplace markup and no assigned-consultant lottery — you work with me specifically, at a lower price than a platform's cut would allow, with the person who did the work described on this site.

Professional boundaries

Consulting happens entirely outside working hours and never touches my employer's clients, codebases or confidential information — this is separate, independent work.

Questions people ask first

How is this different from hiring a full-time architect?

A full-time architect is a headcount decision — months of hiring, then a permanent cost whether or not there's an architecture-sized problem that quarter. This is the same judgement, bought by the decision or by the month. An Architecture Review gets you a senior opinion on one specific question in a couple of weeks; a retainer gets you that opinion continuously without the salary, the notice period, or the risk of hiring the wrong person for a role you only half need filled.

What does an architecture review actually deliver?

A written findings document, plus a call to walk through it. The document covers the risks I found in what you're building or planning, the trade-offs behind each one, and a specific recommendation — which option to take and why, not a list of things to consider. It's written to be forwarded: something you can put in front of an engineering team or a board without translating it first.

What does a week actually look like on a retainer?

Most weeks: a standing review call on whatever rhythm we agree, and async access in between for the questions that can't wait for it — a design doc you want read before it's circulated, a "are we about to regret this?" sanity check, a second opinion on a vendor or a database choice. Quiet weeks are quiet. Busy weeks are the point of having the access.

How much does a fractional technical advisor cost?

A Fractional Advisory retainer here runs ₹2,00,000–₹4,00,000/month, and a fixed-scope Architecture Review is typically around ₹1,50,000. Both are priced on outcome rather than hours logged, so there's no timesheet to argue about. A call to work out which one you need — or whether you need either — is free.

How do you handle confidentiality and NDAs?

Send your standard mutual NDA with your first message and I'll sign it before we get into specifics. Nothing you share appears anywhere on this site — as a case study or otherwise — without your explicit written agreement. In the other direction: this consulting work sits entirely outside my day job and never touches my employer's clients, codebases, or confidential information.

Do I have to pay anything to talk to you first?

No. The free call is the front door for all three options, not a trimmed-down version of them — book a slot and we'll work out what you need. If that turns out to be an Architecture Review or a retainer, we'll scope it from there. If it turns out to be neither, that's a useful answer too.

Still not sure which one fits?

Then don't pick yet. Book the free call, describe the problem, and we'll work out together whether it's a review, a retainer, or something you don't need me for at all.
